Still working

and I Can't wait to show you what I am doing but in the meantime, I thought I would show you my spring fling contest entry from 2009, I t was meant to be on the grounds of the Garfield, bu the way the Garfield is growing, it will have to be next to it. Any way here is the front

This house was so I could experiment with various techniques I wanted to try.I really like the two tone bead board. You might not be able to see it but there is a copper roof on the curved roof.

This is the inside, this now has a potting bench but aside from that its pretty much the same. The floors are scrap book paper.

This is the top floor, i still need a telescope, but the idea was the garner lies to watch the stars.  I need to get some other photos, one day.

Library with your turkey?

Well I didn't update"Last week " Beacuse I wanted to get a touch bit more done and beside, I should save it for a holiday!
Cat said it was ok, aslong as I upadted today, Anyway if your canadian, Happy Thanksgiving! If youre not Happy Monday!
Anyways  I have played with the layout yet again with the garf I have made the library two stories, scraped the kids castle room  so far, and the music room. We Now have a two storey library. Of to the right will be a large conservatory which will house The music collection. Cathrine seems to think this is much more fitting of a grand manor.

As you can see In the first photo there is molding right between the two floors The will be but not that one The will be a cast iron stair case between the two floors and to make the lower book shelves accessible The stair case has to be out a touch. Anyway the upper loft has four sets of shelves as well as what could be a bench or a table, I will probably use this for a bench and have a couple of chairs up there. The Ceiling Will Have Lights around the mural and possibly a few more embellishments. There will also be a large ish chandler. Oh The gentleman there is Christopher he is the man of the house. Gina Gagnon Made him she did a fabulous job! Cat seems to have an eye on him, forget it lady hes taken, By Maria, she will be created soon. I will probably do a cast iron railing up here. Also the open space at the back won't be there when I am done.

The down stairs book case will have pin hinges making it more or less of a barristers book case. The exception being that this will hold Taxidermy! Well Plastic animals made to look like taxidermy. The drawers at the bottom open. I am planing on using one for rocks, shells, eggs, butterfly's etc. The far wall or the the tall wall will hold a massive fire place, I am in the process of hunting one down, It will be hopefully six inches tall, And the over mantle i am hoping about seven or eight. I am thinking a heavily carved mahogany or stone fire place with rocks going up the rest of the wall. BTW the ceiling in this room is seventeen inches tall! This room will be mahogany paneled with white trim, and a parqet floor. The conservatory floor will Be raised.

The next shot is a close up of the book case. I don't know if you have looked at old glass lately, but most of it has ripples. I simulated this with nail polish. The top to shelves will probably hold books. I will replace those nobs with brass pulls and the doors will get pulls as well. Just one more thing Cathrine seems to think that the barristers bookcase area and the mural need lights so i will probably do that.

Hello I thought I would post a tutorial today. Today we will learn how to wire a Lamp. This can be applied to ceiling lights wall sconces any thing with a single light. Its really easy, bear with me Cat is supra vising. She says she doesn't want me messing this up.

Ok so will need the light in question, a replaceable light string. My favorite to use is one wher you can replace the bulb. Any way you will also need small needle nose pliers and a knife, It doesn't have to be shiny though Cathrine disagrees.

So fist thing we do is remove the bulb if you can, we don't want it damaged, remove the shade or what ever is on it. Next cut the cord from the plug we won't need the wire if you are going to reattach it so discasard or here's an idea be creative with it  any way. . .

Next we pull the wire and in some case the bulb through. If the bulb isn't removable wear gloves and use hemostats or pliers. Pull thru.

Next, we will grab the new wire and bulb we will pull it strait just run your fingers along it.

Now thread the wire thru. In some cases you will have to bend it thru turns and curly q's just a bit at a time.

One you threaded it thru, you can attach it to you tape wire or splice it, we will just reattach the plug today.

So Split the wires gently with the knife and separate them with your hands or pliers, hands should work fine.

Now using your finger nail, it doesn't have to be sharp its better if its not take off a little more than 1/4 an inch leaving a bit of wire.

Now straiten it out and feed your plug thru it.

Make an M shape with the wires.

Slide it in, this can be tricky.

Put your prongs in long side out is how this on came but I have seen them reversed. Use your pliers for this.

And we are DONE!!!!!! You should be able to plug it in now in your standard transform/lighting system.

Cathrine is telling me that I "Took too long." This took me two photo shoots, the first one dint turn out. On a side nOte My studio is cleaning up well. Two more days and I can play!!

She says I gotta get back to it. *Mumbles something about slave driver*

Time to breathe. .

I wanted to show this off it is looking so well, By the way I was playing with the settings on my camera wahtya think? It took half a bucket of grout, i find out after, it works better if you water it down. The top will have a smoking chimney. There is a cover for it. The shingle were uh, fun yeah that's it. I added the top two floors because looking at this wall was driving Zoinkers. I still need some of those single french doors, I do have another window some where. . . Oh by the way, please excuse the mess. I work better in creative chaos. I will clean it up honest!

This is the side wall next to the tower it will have rocks, and cedar shakes. The floor is a nice light blue. The posts will be half cedar shakes half stone, I might ad a seat or two built into the railing. There will be no roof on the side though. Not sure about porch posts, might still do those we will see. I thought of adding a balcony but I would have to rework the master bedroom.

These two are of the balcony a close up this one you can see the supports above you can see the diagonal siding. I wanted different lets go inside.

This is the nursery this room will be in progress, with tools here and there Studs showing on the wall. Plaster sticking through etc.

This is going to be the butlers room probably done a shades of worn green I have a murphy bed to go in here. There will be a door into this room

This will be a sewing room a nook area with a raised area for the dummy and I will probably hide the power strip in here. There will be an arch with curtains going across. That little step up goes into the ball room.

As always there are more pics here at green leaf lots of new pics of my dogs here too. . .

A really good Thanks Giving

Admittedly I should have posted this sooner but, I worked Sunday, (last weekend) we were having our thanks giving supper then, so any ways, while I was working, I was approached by one of my coworkers who had a friend associated with the shelter. Anyways I was asked if I wanted a dog, as you all know i really have no room, I stated to hesitate.

'Shes a year old border collie really nice dog.'

Oh Why is some on giving her away then?

[Then came the bomb shell.] There not they are going to put her down tomorrow.

Because she isn't selling.

Grumble a curse about shelters. So I phoned home, it was a quick decison, no one wanted an another dog, but we wanted her not to be put down. So we adopted her She is Boder collie husky maybe german shepard.

Being born in a shelter she was only trained on news paper but so far, she is doing ok. Well She is great with the kids, great with buddy very playful but very skinny and has issues with sharing.

Well work on that

So far she is quite settled! Her name is misty, the thing about that is she came with a different one, but she didn`t respond to it, we were disusing names when this one came up she cam over and gave us a look like, whatya want! Misty is the black dog Buddy Is the white dog.

Till next time ,
